I'm Flake-y, Did You Know That?

So get this: I might not be moving to Arizona, and if I do, it won't be until after the summer. The original plan was to move to Arizona, live there a year to get in-state status and then enroll at ASU.

However, I decided that I really miss college and I want to go back as soon as possible. So I said screw that higher tuition the first year, I'm going back to classes in August. And that's when I applied online. At least I think I did. I got through the whole thing and I tried to pay online, but I don't think it went through. At least I haven't heard anything from them, so I'm thinking it didn't go through. So I should try and do it again.

In the mean time, it dawned on me (actually it was told to me by a co-worker who really wants me to stay) that I should stay in Maryland and not pay rent and therefore save up more money for if and when I move to Arizona. And that sounded like a good idea. Because if I'm not gonna wait for the one year to go back to school, then really, what's the rush in moving there?

Also, I have been looking at other architecture schools, just for fun, and I have decided something I already knew, there are no good architecture schools on the east coast. I don't know why, there just are. If know of one, send it here.

Also, there's a girl involved. Just to let you know. And apparently, it's complicated. And you know why, cause women are so wiley.

Damn It

That is all I have to say. And that is damn it. More on that later. Now I have to do some thinking.

That is all.

I Have No Idea

Ok. I could go many a months without buying clothes. None. I'd have other people do that for me. Or I would just walk around naked. Either way was good and I would feel good about it. But now, now I'm like a t-shirt buying whore.

I've traveled to the Towne Mall of Westminster quite a few times in the past couple of weeks. And in there is a store called Steve and Barry's. It's a university store that has amazing prices on clothes. Either 7.98, 6.98 or 5.98 depending on how they feel. And the quality of the shirts there is almost top notch. It's not cashmere or something like that, but it's the same stuff you'd find on websites for the university itself. And they just have so many different shirts from different colleges and universities (also, they have a bus-load and a half t-shirts with other apparently very witty sayings. I don't find them funny. Now if they had a 'Picked First in Gym Class' with a picture of a tennis shoe on a white shirt, I'd buy four of those in a heartbeat.)

And I'm all for cool and catchy t-shirts, as that is what I mostly wear. They are just so versatile. I can wear it alone on a warm day, or I can combine it with a long sleeve shirt on a cool to cold day. Like I said, versatile.

But back to the shirts at hand. It doesn't matter what the school is, I'll buy it if it looks cool. Like I went in and saw a long sleeve Arizona State shirt with a picture of a devil. Did I buy it? Of course not. It's a long sleeve t-shirt. I, however, found a short sleeved shirt with the same graphic and bought it and a bright yellow long sleeve t-shirt to go under it.

Then, I bought a green Hawaii (University of,) shirt so I would have a green shirt for my birthday plus one month. And a gray long sleeve t-shirt under that.

Then, just because it's natural, a University of Maryland t-shirt. And a Navy blue 'College' t-shirt cause it looked like something that's wierd and cool at the same time.

And today, today was awesome. They have a new store opening somewhere in the country so every item in the store is 5.98. So I had to get some more t-shirts. And I was browsing for nothing in particular (actually, I was looking for a 'happy' colored t-shirt) and happened upon a cool looking Virginia Cavaliers shirt. It's not happy looking, but it's cool looking. I also bought another one, but it's not for me, it's for a friend. And a long sleeve bright orange t-shirt to go under the Virginia t-shirt.

So right now I am not in college and have a generic college shirt, an ASU shirt, a UMD shirt, a Hawaii shirt and a UVA shirt. And I'll be buying more soon cause I have to go back and pick up a game that I pre-ordered. I'm thinking Richmond Spiders, just cause that is a really cool nickname. And a Towson t-shirt, I mean, who the hell has heard of the Towson Tigers?

Oh, and last night I applied to ASU for the fall semester. Except I have to confirm they got my application and my money. Something crazy happened last night when I hit 'submit.' At least I saved it before then.

And just cause it crossed my mind. What if I waited until the summer to move? Just a thought. But then I realized how much I hate this house.

For Fear of Sounding Like an Alkie

Or is it Alchy?

Either way, I just want to let someone out there (perhaps it's 'the Man') that there should be something about having bars close at 1. I mean seriously. I didn't get off work until 12:30. And then I had to get out of my Pizza Hut uniform (ok, I didn't, but I wanted to. I reaked of pizzas and grease). But we got to Westminster at 1:15 or so and the bars were closed. And I was upset. I finally found someone I could go to the bar with, you know, without fear of them being arrested for having a fake id, and the first time we go out there's no where to drink. And it wasn't that I wanted to drink, I was more excited for the idea of drinking in a bar. That's what got me through work. But next weekend we shall try again. Starting at an earlier time.

Also, I just want to let this be known. I, for the first time in my life, got a top that was larger than the bill. I shall set the story for you, because I don't want to get to bed right now.

I was just talking to the table, it was two gentleman. They had been traveling, a lot. From Kentucky to Conneticut to Trenton to Allentown to Westminster. Then they were going to Frederick than to Detroit. So they have a lot of miles behind and ahead of them. So I was just talking to the and letting them know about where some motels were in the area (it was after 10). They were amazed there was no one in the store except them and a party of 11 (7 little kids). The Pizza Huts in the south are always hopping with people on a Saturday. Apparently. So I was just talking to them instead of doing some other work to get out early. But when they left I was in the middle of cleaning and they walked out with handing the book to the manager at the register. She then turns to me and asks me:
"Brian, what's a good tip on a $19 bill?"
And I got scared. She's a waitress, she knows what a good tip would be. I'm thinking it's like a penny, or something like that.
"Umm, I don't know, like $3, or something close to that." I respond, knowing the most probable tip left would be less than a dollar as they could have easily left a 20 to pay for the bill and left me the rest. And of course she pulls out the $20 bill.
"This is for the bill, which is $19.72. And this," as she pulls out another bill, "is your tip."
And in her other hand was another $20 bill.

And of course I didn't question it. They had left. I pocketed it and continued with my work. With a smile upon my face.

And to think, the party of 11 left me $23 on a $62 bill. Cheapskates.
