They Like Me, They Really Like Me!

Actually, I don't know if they like me or not. Maybe they just needed people. Either way I'm going to the Gulf Coast. On Friday morning (like 6:30 in the morning. Grrr.) I'll be on a plane heading towards Houston for a 2 hour layover. I then fly to Gulf Port/Biloxi Mississippi. As soon as I get on the ground, well that could be anyone's guess. I get to bum a ride to the director of the area and s/he shall tell me what to do and where to go. This should be interesting, especially when I was told I should expect water shortages, power outages, limited housing, extreme temperature conditions, extreme emotional stress and, among other things, respitory problems. I probably didn't spell that right but I'm too lazy to look it up.

So I leave on Friday on a Continental Airlines flight for a three week deployment under the power of Red Cross.

They say deployment like I'm going to battle. Well according to some of the problems I've been hearing I may need a weapon. Or at least some Kevlar. You think I can get some night-vision goggles out of this? That would be the coolest and make this Red Cross deployment worthwhile. Well, that and getting one of those red and white Red Cross bib things. I don't care, I'm keeping one. Halloween is coming up and I'll need a costume.

But seriously, I am excited to go down. I want to go down as soon as possible, but not this soon, actually. There is one more thing I have to do, and I don't think I can accomplish it on Thursday while still being at Red Cross at 2 p.m. and running my errands before the flight. Ah well, looks like I'll have to go with plan B.

So now I wait one more day. Perhaps I shall post one more time before I leave, as I don't know how much sense this is making as I have not slept in the past 27+ hours.

Till then.
